US President Barack Obama has appointed an Indian-American engineer Manjit Singh to a key administration post, the White House said. He has been appointed to the US President’s Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood partnerships. Singh, an engineer by training, is President of Agilious, a software technology consulting firm he founded in 2013. Obama in a statement said that he is looking forward for a tremendous dedicated team. He not only made this announcement but also some other appointments were declared yesterday in the White House. And Manjit singh is appointed on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

- Manjit Singh has been appointed to the US President’s Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood partnerships.
- He is an Indian-American Engineer.
- Manjit Singh is co-founder of the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF).
- He is the founder of Agilious, a software technology consulting firm where he works as the president.
- Singh served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation and also as a Member-at-Large of The Board of the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan in Washington.
- He is a graduate of engineering from Bombay University. He is a post-graduate with Master of Science degree from the State University of New York in the US.
- The Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood partnerships aims to bring leaders and experts together in fields related to the work of faith-based and neighborhood organizations.
- The Council will also make recommendations to the Administration to improve the partnerships with the neighbors.

- The President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships brings together leaders and experts in fields related to the work of faith-based and neighborhood organizations in order to make recommendations to the Administration on how to improve the partnerships it forms to serve people in need.
- The President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability was the successor to the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy (Bush, January 22, 2008). (Obama On January 29, 2010, the President signed Executive Order 13530).
- Its mission is to “improve Americans’ understanding of financial products and terms, expand financial access, and provide appropriate and robust consumer protection.” It is operated by the U.S. Treasury Department.
