Startup India Portal and Mobile App:

The Startup India portal and Mobile app have been launched by Secretary, DIPP on 31st March 2016.
Key Features of the portal and app:
• Information Availability: The portal and mobile app provide up to date information on various notifications and circulars issued by the government and also about incubators and funding agencies recognized for the purpose of recommending Startups (as a part of Startup recognition application). This will also contain the FAQs in order to inform startups, incubators and funding agencies.
• Startup India Hub: It has been established within the Invest India, which is a single point of contact for the entire Startup ecosystem enabling exchange of knowledge. This interacts with the hub and spoke model with Governments, VCs, Angel Funds, Incubators, and Mentors etc. Operational from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM it will assist in providing mentorship, incubator facilities, IPR support and funding etc. to the Startups through their lifecycle.
• Application for Startup Recognition: The registered entities that fulfill the criteria as per the definition of “Startup”, can obtain recognition as a “Startup” to avail various benefits listed in the Startup India Action Plan. The users will have to go through a process by filling an application either through web interface or through mobile app. The portal and mobile app contains the format of the form and information regarding files to be attached with it.
• Real Time Startup Recognition: After completion of the application process the Startups are provided with a real time recognition certificate. A digital version of the final certificate of recognition is available for download through the portal and mobile app. A request for certificate of eligibility for tax exemption from Inter-ministerial Board will be made simultaneously by selection of a simple option.
• Verification of Recognition Certificate: The Certificate of Recognition is verifiable through the portal and mobile app by entering the Startup Recognition/Certificate Number.
• Approval of Inter-Ministerial Board: DIPP has also setup an Inter-Ministerial Board to verify the eligibility of Startups opting to avail Tax and IPR related benefits and provide a certificate of eligibility to innovative Startups.
This initiative is a holistic approach by the Government of India in recognition of the largest proportion of working age population and to provide them with self innovative and sustained opportunity, thus paving the way for sustained economic development leading the country to the path of development
